Lately, there has been important developments in the area of securities and market in Turkey. Istanbul Securities Exchange (BIST) has gained depth by means of an increase in the diversity of types of securities. Accordingly, public and private institutions which are in the market increasingly need qualified personnel. Securities and Capital Markets program started its educational and training activities in 2012-2013 academic year taking its first students to meet this need.

QUALIFICATION AWARDED 
The graduates of the program are awarded the associate’s degree diploma.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 
Students are admitted to the program based on the results of YGS exam by OSYM

PROGRAM PROFILE 
The program capacity for students is 50. Those students who will register the department have to be successful in OSYM exam. All the lessons are given in Devrek Vocational School. The program is conducted in the form of formal education.

EMPLOYMENT PROFILES OF GRADUATES 
Graduates of the program can be employed in banks, insurance agents, Istanbul Securities Market, Capital Market Board (SPK), Saving Deposit Insurance Fund, Council of Bank Audit and Regulation (BDDK), stock brokers, research companies. Those graduates who want to be employed in capital markets have to pass a specialty exam which is conducted by Capital Market Board in order to determine the professional competence, knowledge and skills of the applicants. Those who pass the exam have the title of “Account Executive” and “Assistant Financier”

Moreover, graduates of the program can register directly to the 3rd grade of the departments of Business and Economics of Open Education Faculties.

TESTING AND EVALUATION 
For every course, there is one mid-term, one final and one resit exam.In some of the courses, there are additional projects. The exams of theoretical and practice-oriented courses are done in a written format. Mid-term exam has 40% proportion in the final grade of students whereas final exam has 60%.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
In order to graduate from the program, the students need to attend the classes and pass all of the registered courses successfully. Additionally, they need to complete their 30-day practicum and be successful in their practicum exam. They can complete the program provided they have 120 ECTS credits at the end of the 4th semester and be successful in the practicum.
