The department of Office Management and Secretary is placed in the campus of Devrek Vocational High School which is engaged in educational activities under Bülent Ecevit University. The department started its education and training activities taking first students in 2002-2003 academic year. The name of the department had been “Office Management and Secretary” until 2009-2010 academic year. Later, it was changed to “Office Management and Executive Assistance” by the Council of Higher Education in 2009-2010 academic year.

QUALIFICATION AWARDED 
The graduates of the program are awarded the associate’s degree diploma and the working title of “The Member of Profession of Executive Assistant”

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 
a. Students are admitted to the program based on the results of YGS exam by OSYM
b. The students graduated from vocational high-school have the chance of open admission

PROGRAM PROFILE 
The capacity of the program is 60 students for morning classes and 20 for evening classes. Theoretical and Practical lessons are given in Devrek Vocational School. The program is conducted in the form of formal education.

EMPLOYMET PROFILES OF GRADUATES 
Employment opportunities for the graduates of the program are quite high. They are employed in many public and private institutes and institutions, universities, foundations, associations and moreover in medical, engineering, architecture, law offices, insurance agents, etc. As modern sense of management is an increasing necessity for the enterprises today, the need for qualified personnel in this area is increasing day by day.

TESTING AND EVALUATION
For every course, there is one mid-term, one final and one resit exam. In some of the courses, there are additional projects. The exams of theoretical and practice-oriented courses are done in a written format. Those students who pass the practice exam successfully are eligible for taking the final exam at the end of the year. Those who fail the exam cannot take the final exam at the end of the year but have to take the same course again next year. Mid-term exam has 40% proportion in the final grade of students whereas final exam has 60%.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
In order to graduate from the program, the students need to attend the classes and pass all of the registered courses successfully. Additionally, they need to complete their 30-day practicum and be successful in their practicum exam. They can complete the program provided they have 120 ECTS credits at the end of the 4th semester and be successful in the practicum.
