Postal Services

The Department of Postal Services is located on the campus of Devrek Vocational School, which is affiliated to Bülent Ecevit University. The department started its education and training activities by taking its first students in the 2017-2018 academic year. The aim of the programme is to train qualified individuals who know the application of sending parcels, letters and money within the scope of postal and logistics services, who have sufficient knowledge and application skills in the field of communication and logistics services, who will be employed in this sector to meet the need for qualified and trained personnel.

EARNED DEGREE

Those who successfully complete the training will be awarded an associate degree diploma in Postal services.

PROGRAMME PROFILE

Programme student quota is 60 people for daytime learning. Theoretical and practical courses in the programme are held at Devrek Vocational High School. The education of the programme is formal education.

POSSIBILITIES OF EMPLOYMENT

Graduates can either work as a distributor in PTT or work in cargo companies other than PTT according to the success score obtained from KPSS as a requirement of the theoretical and practical education and training gained in the Postal Services department. In addition, graduates of the department can establish and operate a courier or cargo company within the framework of laws and regulations thanks to the training they receive from the department.

EXAMS ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION

In the measurement and evaluation system of the programme; there is a midterm, a final and a make-up exam for each course. In some courses, in addition to exams, quizzes, projects, field studies, etc. can be done during the semester according to the status of the course. Instructors are free to evaluate success according to midterm, final exam, quiz, project, etc. activities. The contribution of midterm grade to the success grade is 40%. The contribution of the final exam to the success grade is 60%. In order for a student to be considered successful in a course, the average of the midterm and final exams must be at least 50. The attendance requirement for the courses is applied as 70%.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

The duration of education is 4 semesters and the language of instruction is Turkish. In order to obtain an associate degree in the field of Postal Services, students must successfully complete all of the compulsory and elective courses (equivalent to a total of 120 ECTS) and have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. In order for students to graduate from the programme, they are required to fulfil their internship duties covering 30 working days. They will be able to perform their internship duties in all public and private institutions operating in this field.
